The Museum of the forest and the peasantry of Vallgorguina is located in an old house renovated, Can Mainou, that was the year 1993 by Mr. Joan Mainou and Fornés through a lifetime to the Council. This renovation was funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) and the Department of Interior of the Government of Catalonia within the framework of the program Live in the village More, for the urban regeneration and the promotion of tourism of the municipality. The Museum was inaugurated on the day 26 in November of the year 2016.
The Museum emphasizes the memory·the collective municipality, showing their rural past from the tools used in the work in the forest and farmer and the testimony of the same protagonists through photos and audiovisuals.
The col·the Museum's collection is divided into two floors that give value to the world of the forest, the nature and the peasantry.
The ground floor is dedicated to the peasantry: life and values to farmer, the tools used and the technical advances, the cereals and vines. The outdoor patio of the Museum specializes in the draft animals: uses, materials and parts of the car.
The first floor focuses on the forest and nature: use & crafts (use, grates, bosquerols), vegetation, fauna and current uses (hiking).
The Museum of forest and Agriculture puts value to the world of the forest, the nature and the peasantry. The aim is to preserve and display the rich heritage of the way of life of the ancestors of Vallgorguina, the heart of the Montnegre i el Corredor.
